It’s been just over a week since the 9th edition of SpringFling and I have to say how incredible it is to be involved in such an amazing scene!
The quality and quantity of vehicles this year far surpassed our wildest dreams. And although the weather people were forecasting doom and gloom, the rain held out for us as we moved forward on what has probably been the best year yet!
Defining the best year can come in many iterations. This year, was the BEST for the charities that we provide for! A staggering 1,118 pounds of food and $2,500 were raised for the food bank. An incredible feat given the weather forecast. Our t-shirt sales were also epic as we SOLD OUT and managed to raise $250 for the Canadian Cancer Society.
If you attended the show this year, or simply helped out from elsewhere, your sense of community was certainly felt and your kindness will be remembered. The fact that a very diverse crowd of automotive enthusiasts can converge at the Hansa Haus once a year and share their passion for cars as well as a cause is inspiring.
The staff at the Hansa Haus needs to be thanked once again for supporting our event and partnering with us once again.
The volunteer staff certainly played an integral role in the success that was 2012 and my most sincere thanks go to each and everyone of you.
To Josh and the staff at Faduchi group for handling all of our web/techy/computer stuff that honestly confuses me most of the time, thank you. To Matt aka Deathlens for your incredible photos from the day, we also appreciate your talent!
To our sponsors, without whom SpringFling would not exist!
To my family, that supports me and the show each year!
So thank you each and everyone of you for continuing to make SpringFling a story about a little german car BBQ that has grown to epic proportions, and for making the event something greater than just a gathering of enthusiasts.
SpringFling 2013 is booked for Sunday June 2nd. This will be our 10th anniversary and we are hoping to eclipse all previous shows!!! Mark it in your calendars now. Drive safe, enjoy your summer, and support your local scene and our sponsors! See you next year!
